‘Rene’s Recipes’ is a collection of traditional British recipes that Rene Marshall, my grandmother, gathered over her life. The three notebooks she used are filled to the brim with traditional recipes. We've altered some of the recipes slightly to make them easier to make with the ingredients you can find in the shops today.

私の実家のイギリス・コーンウォール地方の本棚で、古い手書きのレシピを見つけました。 それは今は亡き料理好きの祖母が、おそらく1930年頃から彼女の母親や友達から教えてもらった イギリスの家庭料理や伝統料理の手づくりレシピ集でした。

祖母のレシピには、戦時中や戦後の質素な食料事情にもめげない、おいしい料理への探究心があふれており、 是非私も作ってみたいと思いました。

イギリスのどこの家庭にもきっと当時は普通にあった知識ですが、 今は素朴なイギリス料理を食べるチャンスはぐっと減ったように感じます。

そんなレシピを皆さんにも知っていただきたいと思います。 リーニの食卓に遊びにきてください。

このサイトでは、『リーニのレシピ』をもとに、料理研究家のsachiさんと共に、材料や分量・時間などを現代のものに若干のアレンジを加えつつ制作しています。当時のものよりも、ちょっと美味しくなっているかもしれませんね。
